Lusting Over Vintage (Antique) Horsehair Bridles.

Wish I had a wall full of vintage (antique) horsehair bridles! Here’s the description of the Walla Walla Horsehair Bridle (pictured below) on the auction website where it is offered for bids:

“Dramatic, oversized vintage Washington State penitentiary-made hitched horsehair bridle with decorative mountings. Bridle has a white background, black back and geometric diamonds executed in black, maroon, green and orange on 1 1/2” (w) cheeks. The decorative rosettes affixed to the browband consists of a 2 7/8” flower comprised of copper, nickel and inlaid abalone. A large nickel-on-copper heart inlaid with an abalone diamond dangles from the browband. Nickel buckles inlaid with abalone, connect the head to cheeks and the cheeks to the gal leg nickel port bit with inlaid abalone, copper shoes and heart accented with abalone. Leather reins. Excellent condition, c 1950’s”
